Cybercrime Reports Rise by 23 Per Cent.
The magazine, Computer Active is reporting that cybercrime offenses reported by businesses and the general public have risen by 23 percent in the last 12-months to March 2020, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
The increase was driven by huge rises in ‘hacking social media and email’ – 55 percent, and computer viruses / malware – 61 percent.
In total, 26,215 incidents were reported to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) by Action Fraud.
